📋 Requirements for MBBS Abroad (For Indian Students)
The National Medical Commission (NMC) has set specific eligibility criteria for Indian students aspiring to pursue MBBS abroad. Here’s what you need to qualify:
- Academic Qualification: Must have passed 10+2 from a recognized board with at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. For SC/ST/OBC students, the minimum required is 40%.
- Age Limit: You must be 17 years or older by 31st December of the admission year.
- NEET Qualification: A valid NEET UG scorecard is mandatory for admission to any foreign medical university.
📘 Entrance Exams to Study MBBS Abroad
Indian students aspiring to pursue MBBS abroad must qualify the NEET UG exam, as made mandatory by the Medical Council of India (MCI) in March 2019. NEET is a compulsory requirement for admission in countries such as Russia, Bangladesh, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, and the Caribbean Islands.
In some countries, students may also be asked to prove their English language proficiency through exams like IELTS or TOEFL. However, many top destinations for MBBS abroad do not require these tests, and students can secure admission purely based on their 12th grade marks and NEET scores.

The admission process for MBBS abroad for Indian students is based on their aggregate marks in PCB subjects in Class 12th and NEET score. The admission in foreign medical universities is granted on merit-basis.
