ATSMU stands for Avicenna Tajik State Medical University, formerly known as Tajik State Medical Institute. It is a renowned medical university located in Dushanbe, the capital city of Tajikistan. Founded in 1939, the university has a long history of providing medical education and training in Tajikistan. ATSMU offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in various medical disciplines. The university has faculties of General Medicine, Dentistry, Pediatrics, Pharmacy, Medical Psychology, and Medical and Preventive Care.

The University was established in 1939 and recently celebrated its glorious 70th anniversary. University is managed by the Ministry of Health.
It is one of the bright pages in the history of the republic, formation and development of medical science, higher medical education and public health services.
There is only one Medical University in Tajikistan.
All achievements of the public health services system of the republic are inseparably linked with the activity of the university.
Over the 75 years, the medical university has educated more than 35,000 highly skilled medical personnel working not only inside the country but abroad as well.
By its seventieth anniversary, the medical university has educated 32,442 doctors working not only inside the country but beyond it as well.

There are 63 departments, including 9 general educational departments, 16 medical and theoretical, 23 therapeutic specialization and 15 surgical specialization departments.

The library fund of the University consists of 6,80,334 items of educational, medical and scientific literature, including 1,51,100 electronic books.

Student’s visa extension has to be done once the student reaches the college our staff will take care of this procedure to get this work done, they extend the student visa from 90 days to 1 year.
